How to Clean a Bosch Aquastar
- 1). Wipe down the outside of the hot water heater with a damp cloth, removing any dirt, soil or debris from the vents. Dry the metal exterior thoroughly to prevent rust. Do this when the heater becomes slightly dusty.
- 2). Unsnap the back panel of your Bosch Aquastar.
- 3). Find the pilot housing bracket at the bottom center of the Aquastar, below the burners. Remove the two retaining clips.
- 4). Tighten one wrench around the pilot filter housing, which is a 2-inch, six-sided metal piece. Unscrew the nut on the curved copper pilot tube below. Don't lose the white gaskets.
- 5). Blow air into the top of the filter housing to remove dust or debris. Hold up the filter to the light to check that it's clear.
- 6). Replace the pieces and test your hot water heater.
