How to Import Songs From an iPod to iTunes on Mac

    • 1). Open iTunes on your Mac and click on "Preferences" in the iTunes menu.

    • 2). Select "Devices" and check the "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from synching automatically" box.

    • 3). Select "Advanced" and check the "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" boxes.

    • 4). Plug your iPod into your Mac.

    • 5). Click on your iPod's "Summary" in iTunes and check the "Enable Disk Use" box.

    • 6). Open "Terminal" in the Applications/Utilities folder. Type: "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
      killall Finder" and hit the "Return" button.

    • 7). Open your iPod on your desktop and drag the "Music" folder onto your desktop.

    • 8). Click on "Add to Library" in iTunes and select the "Music" folder. Click "Choose." All of the music from your iPod will be copied into iTunes.

    • 9). Open "Terminal" and type: "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE killall Finder."
