I knew about this campground from going there for years, and I tent camped there in May 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
Fairly large campground with well over 200 sites for motorhomes and tents. Water, showers, toilets. Very clean and well maintained. Mostly quiet mostly for its size. We like to just relax and enjoy the outdoors, although there is shopping in town, ocean fishing charters, and fun for the kids.
There are lots of trails and outdoor stuff to do as a family. Playing on the beach with kids and dogs was the best.
Pros: Well kept, patrolled, on the beach, many sites to choose from, close to fun and nature and some history.
Cons: Because it is large, it can get a little louder on the weekends when it is full. Sometimes you have to wait in line for a shower, but no biggie. Just get up earlier than everyone else.
Nearby attractions: Pacific Ocean, fishing, shopping, nature trails/hiking, historical places.
Further comments:
This campground is a family tradition for us. We go every year for a week, sometimes twice a year. We highly recommend it to everyone who likes camping. The staff is exceptional. We just love it there, and I can't wait to go again.
