How to Polish Out Marks in Automotive Paint
- 1). Apply the automotive detailing spray onto the paint surface where the mark is present until the paint is fairly wet and wipe the area clean using a microfiber towel in a circular pattern. If it's a light mark on the paint, this might fix the problem right away.
- 2). Apply the automotive detailing spray onto the paint surface again. Then rub the automotive clay onto the paint, working it across the surface. Make sure to frequently apply the detailing spray to the paint, so that the clay is well lubricated as it goes across the paint. Flip and roll the clay frequently to get a clean surface. This will remove most marks from paint.
- 3). Wipe off the detailing spray using the microfiber towel in the same manner as you did in step 1.
- 4). Apply a small dollop of the automotive polish to the application pad and rub the polish onto the paint in a circular pattern, then clean off the polish using a microfiber towel like you did in step 1.
- 5). Apply the automotive wax to another application pad and rub the polish on the paint in a circular pattern. Wait for the wax to haze over, then wipe it clean using a microfiber towel in a circular motion.
