    • 1). Loosen the lug nuts, using the tire iron, supplied with the Nissan. Place a jack under the frame, and jack the vehicle high enough to place a jack stand under the frame. Lower the Nissan onto the jack frame. Remove the lug nuts, and pull the wheel off the vehicle.

    • 2). Open the engine hood, and remove the cap from the master cylinder.

    • 3). Open the bleeder valve on the new brake caliper, using a wrench.

    • 4). Fill the new brake caliper with DOT5 brake fluid, using the threaded hole for the brake line. Continue to fill the caliper, until the brake fluid comes out of the hole in the bleeder valve. Close the bleeder valve, using a wrench.

    • 5). Loosen the brake line, connected to the top of the old caliper, using a wrench. Remove the brake line from the caliper, and thread it into the threaded hole on the new brake caliper.

    • 6). Hang the new caliper onto the front spring, using a wire tie. Do not allow the new brake caliper to hang off the brake line.

    • 7). Remove the two bolts that secure the caliper to the axle assembly, using a socket and ratchet. The bolts thread into the caliper from the back of the axle assembly.

    • 8). Pull the old caliper off the rotor and remove the brake pads from the caliper. The pads simply rest inside the caliper, as they do not bolt in place.

    • 9). Place the old brake pads into the new caliper. If you use new brake pads, use new rotors, as well, as the pads wear into the rotors, and new pads will not line up correctly.

Remove the wire tie from the new caliper, and slide the caliper over the brake rotor. Secure it into place, by threading the two bolts through the back of the axle assembly into the caliper. Tighten the bolts with the socket and ratchet.

Bleed the air out of the brake caliper. To do so, open the bleeder valve, using a wrench. Have a second person press on the brake pedal. While he continues to push the pedal down, close the valve. Have the him let off the brake. Repeat this procedure, until you have full brake pressure, when pushing down the brake pedal. It is common for brake fluid to flow from the bleeder valve. Clean it with a towel.

Close the master cylinder cap, and then close the engine hood.

    • 13

Spray the brake rotor with brake cleaner to remove any grease or brake fluid from the rotor.

    • 14

Place the wheel back onto the Nissan; thread the lug nuts onto the wheel studs, and lightly tighten the lug nuts with the tire iron.

    • 15

Remove the Nissan from the jack stand; lower it to the ground, and tighten the lug nuts with the tire iron.
