How to Reset the 2005 Corolla Security Codes
- 1). Shift the Corolla's transmission into park, and shut off the engine. Set the parking brake, and rotate the ignition back to the "ON" position. Do no re-start the engine.
- 2). Connect the scan tool's data cable to the Corolla's diagnostic data port. This port is located underneath the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle, just below the steering column.
- 3). Power on the scan tool, and allow it to boot up. Follow the onscreen instructions in order to enter in the vehicle's specific power train information.
- 4). Select "BCM" from the tool's main menu. Choose "codes," then select "clear all current and stored DTCs." Wait for the scan tool to confirm that the codes have been cleared.
- 5). Unplug the scan tool, and start the engine. Verify that the security light is not illuminated. The security codes are now reset.
