    Alfalfa Seed Tea

    • 1). Pour one tablespoon of whole alfalfa seeds into a tea ball or tea strainer. Set the tea ball into a mug.

    • 2). Bring a kettle of water to a boil. Pour the boiling water over the tea ball until the mug is full.

    • 3). Allow the tea to steep for three to five minutes, then remove the tea ball. Dump the alfalfa seeds in a garbage or compost. Sweeten the alfalfa seed tea if you wish, and drink at your leisure.

    Ground Alfalfa Seed

    • 1). Pour alfalfa seeds into a clean spice grinder. You can also do this with a mortar and pestle, but it will be more challenging to break up the seeds.

    • 2). Grind the seeds in the spice grinder until they become a fine powder. It's okay if you have a few pieces of whole seed left over, but most should be powdery. You can either grind a lot of seeds ahead of time, or only grind as many as you need.

    • 3). Dump the seeds out of the spice grinder and store in an airtight container. Keep this container in the refrigerator when not in use.

    • 4). Add one teaspoon to one tablespoon of these crushed alfalfa seeds to granola, salads, sandwiches or other dishes.
