How to Replace a RCA Dlp Lamp
- 1). Unplug the television and allow the lamp to cool for at least 30 minutes. While you're waiting, carefully take the replacement bulb out of its case, handling it with the lint-free cloth.
- 2). Locate the lamp door at the back of the television. Using your flathead screwdriver, undo the screw holding the door in place. Press on the two tabs on the door to open it, revealing the lamp enclosure.
- 3). Loosen the two screws holding the lamp enclosure in place, allowing you to gently remove the enclosure by pulling outward on the handle or flanges. Note the position the enclosure fits into--this will aid in reassembly later.
- 4). Push with your thumb to release the two tabs at the rear of the lamp enclosure. Remove the rear portion to allow access to the lamp. With your needle-nose pliers, unfasten the screws holding the bulb in place. Remove the old bulb and replace it with the new one, taking care to replace all screws and washers. Reassemble the lamp enclosure.
- 5). Gently reinsert the lamp enclosure so it fits in the same way as you found it. Replace all screws and close the door, screwing shut.
