    • 1). After removing your depth finder and other contents from the package, locate the mounting bracket, which has holes for screws. It holds the screen in place on the hull.

    • 2). Find a place to mount your depth finder. Make sure the location provides a clear view of the depth finder's screen while you are driving the boat.

    • 3). Mark the hole locations on your hull with a pencil by holding the mounting bracket in place where you want your depth finder installed. Use a drill bit smaller than the holes to pre-drill holes for the screws. Hold the bracket up to the holes and make sure they match.

    • 4). Screw the bracket into place with a Phillips screwdriver. Make sure the bracket is secure, but do not over-tighten the screws.

    • 5). Place the depth finder in the bracket and secure it with the screws supplied by the manufacturer. Some depth finders will clip or snap onto the bracket.

    • 6). Mark the location to mount the transducer on the stern. It should sit just below the bottom of the boat.

    • 7). Use your pencil to mark the holes for the transducer mounting bracket. Set the transducer in the bracket and hold it in place before drilling the holes, using a drill bit smaller than the screws.

    • 8). Mount the bracket on the boat. Apply silicone sealant to the screws to prevent water seepage through the holes. Mount the transducer on the bracket.

    • 9). Run the cable attached to the transducer back to your depth finder. It is best to run the cable so that it cannot be pulled loose. Plug it into the depth finder. Attach the two remaining wires to your battery. The red wire is the positive and the black is the negative. Test the system by turning the power on.
