Look On The Bright Side Day
A Special Holiday For Looking On The Bright Side
December 21 is Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, and it is also national Look On The Bright Side Day!
The bright side of the darkest day is that every day after that (for 6 months anyway), will be brighter than this one, and every day brighter than the next. Yay!
Meanwhile, there are many occasions when things don't look so hot and we benefit a great deal from remembering to look on the bright side. So let's celebrate this very special holiday that makes life so much more joyful.

If you feel down in the dumps, it can be hard to look on the bright side. But if you don't, you're only hurting yourself.
You may think you deserve to feel terrible. But who is the one who's suffering? Sure, you deserve to feel any way you want, but why would you want to feel terrible? It's not helping.
I love Abraham (and Esther and the late Jerry Hicks). They have such wisdom, plus several techniques that help with turning that old mood around. And one of the big ones is "Positive Aspects."
The idea is to focus on the positive aspects of whatever it is that gets you down. It can be hard, but it works.
So if your job is making you stressed and angry, you need to focus on finding SOMETHING you like about it. That could be a person who works there, the view from your window, the taco stand across the street from there, the fact that it provides you with money, even if it's not as much as you'd like, and so on.

First of all, even though there is a specific National Look On The Bright Side Day, I highly recommend that we don't limit ourselves to that one day. Instead, let's celebrate it EVERY day.
We can celebrate it by everything that helps us look at the bright side and enjoy our lives. Here are a few things you can do that will help:
1) Do something you enjoy
2) Smile and stand up straight (or sit up straight)
3) Get your daily dose of sunshine
4) Keep a gratitude journal
5) Do the Positive Aspects exercise
6) Listen to Abraham audios or read books on how to be happy
7) Hug a family member or a friend. Or your puppy or cat.
8) Focus on what you DO want
9) Read about the Law of Attraction, and focus on things you want to attract
10) Get enough sleep, good food, and exercise.
