How to Replace a Motor Mount Insert
- 1). Raise the front of the vehicle using the the floor jack. Place a jack stand under the front right and left side of the vehicle at the support rail just under each door. Lower the vehicle down onto the jack stands and remove the jack from under the vehicle.
- 2). Slide under the vehicle and locate the motor mount inserts on the front of the engine on the right and left sides. Locate the metal securing bolt in the center of each motor mount insert. Loosen both of the metal securing bolts in the center of each motor mount insert using the ratchet set.
- 3). Position the floor jack under the engine's oil pad and raise the engine slightly to remove the weight of the engine from the motor mount inserts.
- 4). Remove the metal securing bolt from the center of the right motor mount insert only using the ratchet set. Pull the motor mount insert out from between the engine and the vehicle's frame. Slide the new motor mount insert between the engine and the vehicle's frame and replace the metal securing bolt to the center of the new motor mount.
- 5). Remove the metal securing bolt from the center of the left motor mount insert using the ratchet set. Pull the motor mount insert out from between the engine and the vehicle's frame. Slide the new motor mount between the engine and the vehicle's frame and replace the metal securing bolt to the center of the new motor mount.
- 6). Lower the engine down onto the new motor mount inserts using the floor jack. Torque the metal securing bolt in the center of the new motor mount inserts according to the specifications for that specific vehicle using the torque wrench.
- 7). Using the floor jack, raise the vehicle one side at a time and remove the jack stands from under the vehicle returning the vehicle to the ground. Remove the floor jack from under the vehicle.
