How to Fish With Downriggers & Flashers
- 1). Tie your flashers to the line above its release clip. Allow for 2 to 3 inches of space between the flashers so they can spin freely without making contact with each other and resulting in a tangled line.
- 2). Snap the string of flashers to the downrigger ball and attach the lure or bait to the release clip.
- 3). Cast off of your boat in the opposite direction of your troll or your drift. Let out slack in the line until you feel the ball hit the bottom of the water.
- 4). Drift or troll through your desired fishing area, reeling in your line every once in a while to check for tangles.
