    • 1). Open your computer case. Unscrew the access door or the side of the case by using a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the case together.

    • 2). Upgrade the CPU. Unscrew the fan and heatsink from on top of the CPU. You may need to use pliers to disconnect the heatsink. Lift the thin metal bar holding the CPU in place. Put in a faster CPU that is compatible with your motherboard. Match the corner of the CPU with the corner of the CPU holder where a single pin and hole are left blank. Replace the heatsink and CPU fan.

    • 3). Upgrade the RAM. The RAM modules are long and thin and there are usually two on a motherboard. Put new compatible RAM in any open ports or remove the old RAM and replace with faster compatible RAM. The old RAM can be removed by pushing the side connectors of the RAM and lifting it out. Close the computer and restart.
