However, with poor snacking habits, individuals may find themselves with significant health problems.
For people who are aiming to control their diets and looking to improve their health, it is important to understand the difference between good and bad snacking.
Between breakfast and lunch, it is very tempting to eat foods high in sugar.
When the body's blood sugar falls, it is natural to crave sugars.
However, eating sugar does not only mean consuming high calories, but it may also start a cycle of high sugar cravings.
Satisfying the craving is not in a person's best interest.
The same goes for fatty foods.
Americans are renowned for consuming such foods as chips and beef jerky.
Both of these foods typically contain a great amount of salt and fat that will only damage a person's body.

Many healthy snack foods are full of valuable nutrients.
Eating small amounts of fruits and vegetables or nuts can significantly curb hunger.
They can help control weight or help someone lose weight.
These snacks can also reverse cravings for unhealthy foods and help maintain a healthy blood sugar level.
Choosing whether to snack to stay healthy will ultimately be the choice of an individual.
There is not necessarily one correct answer.
Everybody will have different cravings and everyone will have different goals for their dietary health.
However, there is one underlying fact that will not change: eating foods with little nutritional value can negatively affect a person's health.
