We found out about this campground through an Internet search for state parks, and we RV camped there in July 2009.

Describe your camping trip:

We were on our way to Destin, Florida and only needed one night. We could not lock in our reservation, because we needed only one night, but all went well. My kids really enjoyed the short walk to the water's edge. We didn't want to leave and had plenty of shade at our site.

Pros: Wow. You have access to this big huge lake. Everything was super clean and the grounds were groomed/trimmed nicely. There's plenty of room around the fire ring. You're not jammed up against your neighbor. The kids can jump off the old fashioned diving platform out in the lake. There's plenty of benches to sit around the water's edge. You can rent paddle boats, if you'd like to venture out. The rangers were certainly accommodating to our needs. This campground is accessible from the interstate and easy to find. We needed 50 amp, and that was no problem.

Cons: Your dog is not allowed into the water or on the water's edge.

Nearby attractions: Plenty of food, gas and football are all close, if you would like that option.

Further comments: We would certainly camp here again without any question.
