Ethernet Method

• 1). Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of your computer or laptop.
  
  
• 2). Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to one of the Ethernet ports on your router or network device.
  
  
• 3). Double-click the wireless icon in the system tray at the bottom right of the screen and click "Disconnect" to disconnect the wireless signal. This will ensure that the computer is using the faster Ethernet connection.
  
  
• 4). Repeat the process for other computers on the network, especially if you will be transferring files back and forth between the computers.
  
  

Wireless Method

• 1). Purchase a wireless router with support for the 802.11n standard or higher. This standard is capable of transfer speeds much faster than 802.11g.
  
  
• 2). Remove your original router and install the new router in its place by following the included instructions.
  
  
• 3). Install an 802.11n wireless adapter in your computer or laptop if it does not already support the standard.
