How to Transfer Settings to a New Computer
- 1). Ensure that both computers are connected to the home wireless network. On the new computer, click on "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and then "System Tools."
- 2). Click on "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard." Click on "Next."
- 3). Click on "New Computer" when the "Which computer is this?" dialog box appears.
- 4). Click on the "I will use a Windows XP CD" option when the "Do you have a Windows XP CD" screen appears.
- 5). Connect your flash drive or removable hard drive to the new computer and click on the "I want to create a Wizard Disk in the following drive" option.
- 6). Select your media type, either flash drive or removable hard drive, by clicking on the down arrow and choosing it from the list. Click on "Next."
- 7). Click in the appropriate bubble when the wizard asks you which operating system your old computer is running. Click on "OK." Click on "OK" when the wizard prompts you to connect your writable media.
- 8). Close any open programs on your old computer. Disconnect your flash drive or removable hard drive from the new computer.
- 9). Click on "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard." Click on "Next." Connect your flash drive or removable hard drive to the old computer.

Click on "Start" and then "My Computer." Double-click on your flash drive or removable hard drive's icon. Click on the file named "FASTWiz." Insert the Windows XP CD into the disk drive. - 11
Click "Perform additional tasks" when the Windows XP setup screen appears. Click on "Transfer files and settings." Click on "Next" when the wizard appears and click on the "This is the old computer" option. - 12
Click on the "Home or small office network" option and click "Next." Click on the "What do you want to transfer?" screen. - 13
Type the password the wizard gives you into the new computer when prompted. Click on "Finish."
