Juicing Basics - The Phytonutrients
Juicing basics Juicing basics begin with an understanding of phytonutrients.
Phytonutrients are those elements found in plant pigments that give fruits and vegetables their colors.
Usually they are found on the skins of most fruits and vegetables.
They are very powerful, potent antioxidants that stop free radicals and attack diseases of all kinds.
Juicing basics - The common phytonutrients My attempt here is to list the most common phytonutrients, and list the foods they are found in.
From this list you can build your own juicing recipe to fit your own health needs.
Not all of these foods can be juiced, like garlic and onions; however these are powerful heart health foods that should be consumed weekly.
Smoking heavily reduces Vitamin A.
Are you around second hand smoke? Reduce the effect by juicing carrots.
The carotenoids protect the lung lining.
These are some of the more common phytonutrients.
From this basic juicing list, one can select those foods to fit their juicing recipe.
All my juicing basic recipes contain 3 elements: carrots, apples and spinach.
Primarily because they taste good together and secondly these 3 elements have very powerful phytonutrients.
These 3 elements could be a good recipe on their own.
OK.
Let's say for example I had heart issues.
Choosing from above, my recipe would contain spinach, celery, apples, blueberries, carrots, and red grapes.
I would also consume onions and garlic in my diet daily.
For prostate issues my juicing recipe would contain carrots, spinach, apples, blueberries, cranberries, grapes and watermelon.
My diet would also contain raw tomatoes, tomato pastes, and raw nuts especially pumpkin seeds.

- Allyl Sulfides - Are found in the sulfate producing veggies like garlic, onions and shallots.
They suppress and prevent colds, inflammation, diabetes, arterial plaque build up, and high blood pressure.
Garlic and onions suateed with olive oil make foods very tasty.
Cut up onions and garlic and let set for 10 minutes before cooking.
This fully activates the allyl sulfides for maximum benefit.
I know 1 individual who got off his heart medication by consuming one clove of raw garlic daily.
He simply chopped it up and added it to his meals throughout the day. - Quercetin - is found in Apples, grapes, citrus fruits, cherries, cranberries, and all leafy greens like spinach, kale and mustard greens.
This powerful nutrient is used to treat prostate, ovarian, and breast cancers, cataracts, asthma and bronchitis.
It also reduces Total cholesterol and high Triglcerides. - Limonene - is taken from lemons and noni.
It detoxifies and assists the liver in releasing carcinogens.
If you don't like lemons in your juicing regimen simply squeeze it into your drinking water. - Chlorophyll - is found in spirulina, barley grass, and the leafy greens like spinach, kale, and mustard greens.
Chlorophyll is a powerful detoxification agent that protects the genes from bio - chemical damages.
It rebuilds red blood cells and provides relief for the anemic, exhausted or tired. - Lutein - is a carotonoid found in all leafy greens like spinach, kale, mustard greens, mangos, and winter squash.
Studies have shown it attacks and reduces breast, colon, endometrial and prostate cancers.
It also enhances vision. - Lycopene - is found in tomatoes, watermelon, pink grapefruit, and papaya.
It is primarily known for prostate cancer prevention.
But it is also helpful for cardiovascular diseaase, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and male infertility. - Resveratrol+Anthocyanidins - found in blueberries, bileberries, cranberries, red grapes and red wine.
A number of studies have shown resveratrol to be anti - inflammatory, heart healthy, with antiaging life prolonging effects reported.
Anthocyananidins are very powerful anti - oxidants that stop free radicals and help prevent cancers.
They also promote vascular health. - Ellagic Acid - found in pomegranites, grapes, strawberries, and raspberries.
It provides protection from colon and esofogeal cancers. - Carotenoids - found in carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash.
Carrots have high concentrations of the pro vitamin A Beta - carotene.
It protects against hardening of the arteries, helps lower blood sugars for diabetics, protects lung lining, reduces the risk of emphysema, and is pro anticancer. - phthalides - are found in celery.
Phthalides relax the muscles around arteries allowing blood vessels to dialate.
This in turn lowers blood pressure.
They also reduce stress hormones which constrict blood vessels.
Smoking heavily reduces Vitamin A.
