Making a Tip-Up

• 1). Attach the strip of cloth to the end of the light dowel.
  
  
• 2). Form a cross with the dowels, with the flagged end having the most length, and the other end extending just a few inches from the thicker dowel.
  
  
• 3). Bind the rods together using any type of knot.
  
  
• 4). Tie your line to the short end of the flagged rod.
  
  
• 5). Test by giving the line a gentle tug to raise the flag.
