How to Make Recovery CDs
- 1). Download a recovery program. Many charge a fee for download (like Brothersoft's Recovery CD Maker), but one good free option is DiskInternal's Boot CD. For the purposes of this article, we'll go with the latter.
- 2). Run the program's Wizard, which will take you through the step-by-step recovery CD creation process.
- 3). Insert a DVD or a CD containing your program's setup files when the Wizard prompts you to do so, then select the appropriate CD/DVD drive as your source.
- 4). Insert a blank CD when the Wizard prompts you to do so. The setup files will be transferred by the recovery program onto the blank CD.
- 5). Select "Burn to CD/DVD." This tells the program that you wish to make a copy of the original setup files and burn them onto a blank CD or DVD.
- 6). Click "Build" and wait while the recovery program copies the setup files from the disc.
- 7). Store your recovery CD is a safe place, separate from your original CDs.
