How Much Nutrition Does A Person Need?

105 5
Different people require different amounts of nutrition, your RDA (recommended daily allowance) consist of up to 22 different categories of us humans, Babies, boys, girls, men, women right through from middle age to 70 years and older. Even now recommendations will then be advised for people 80 years and over.(watch this space)

The important factor here is that of course age is important and so is gender. For instance when women reach childbearing age they lose iron within the body when they menstruate so because of this their RDA is higher than a man of the same age. It goes the other way as well if you have a man who is sexually active the lose zinc when they ejaculate, so again this effects the RDA for men over women.

Gender effects you RDA's in many ways, as the average man weighs more than the average woman his RDA guidelines mean that his need for protein is greater due to the body composition. It is important to balance your calorie intake, so ensure that when you have carbohydrates it is balanced with the complex varieties from fruit, vegetables and whole grains. This needs to account for 45-65 percent of your daily intake so if you have a die that consists of 2000 calories that works out at 900-1300 calories daily. It is important that you consume no more than 20 percent of your daily intake through eating fat but this does not mean it is okay to use this daily amount for saturated fat as this is a big resounding no in this day and age.

I know we say everything in moderation is okay but you really do want to stay away from this type of fat where ever possible. Your body does not need this as part of your RDA and to achieve the right lifestyle it is best avoided. The fats you will need to concentrate on are the healthy fats (omega-3s) which are found in fish and olive oil, corn oil etc The challenge your body has is that it is more difficult converting fat to energy. Food high in fat is digested more slowly compared to proteins and carbohydrates as the enzymes take longer to break it down.

The message is you really are what you eat, this expression is banded around a lot these days but it is absolutely true, the fuel you give your body combined with how it breaks each individual food particle down controls not only your weight but also your mood, your libido, your concentration, your enthusiasm etc etc I could go on and on here but the moral is the more good you put in the more good you get out.
