• Courses for basic laser training will vary by institution and according to the profession in which this type of instruction will be applied. Aesthetic and cosmetic surgeons will receive coursework in skin physiology, histology, and laser and light physics. Cosmetologists and beauty industry personnel usually receive coursework in areas such as Laser Hair Removal and Comprehensive Laser.
  
  

Training

• Enrollment fees, curriculum and program requirements for laser training will vary by institution. Laser training fees range from $1000 to $2500 and training is usually only available to personnel who will use this technology within their profession. Certification

• Laser certification is available to professionals that have completed training and have proven that they are capable of operating laser equipment for medical or aesthetic procedures. Institutions such as the National Council on Laser Excellence (NCLE) and the International Aesthetic and Laser Association (IALA) are two organizations that offer certification.
