A panic attack is a frightening and debilitating experience that can often be mistaken for a heart attack or other serious condition.
It is possible to take steps to cure panic attacks at home, but it is very important that you not mistake your symptoms for a panic attack if it happens to be something more serious.
The symptoms include a rapid heart rate, accompanied by difficulty in breathing, sweating, and uncontrollable shaking of the muscles.
A feeling of smothering or choking is also common, as is a sensation of dizziness or faintness, as well as tingling or numbness in the extremities.
Victims sometimes also feel nauseous and may experience chills or even hot flashes.
A feeling of being detached from reality, as if witnessing the entire event from afar, is also common and frequently causes the victim to question his or her sanity.
This leaves them in search for a panic attacks cure.
While these symptoms can be debilitating, these events are rarely, if ever, life threatening and will usually subside on their own with no ill effects.
There are techniques, which you can employ to cure panic attacks at home that have been proven effective in many people.
Before you attempt a home remedy to cure panic attacks, it is important that you be sure that your condition is, in fact, a panic disorder and not a more serious condition like a heart attack.
If, and only if, you have been previously diagnosed as being susceptible to a panic attack disorder and you are 100% certain that you are not suffering a more serious condition should you attempt a home remedy.
The first step is to control your breathing.
Take deep, full breaths and exhale through pursed lips, as if you are blowing out a birthday candle.
This will control the rate of your breathing and prevent you from hyperventilating.
Next, make a conscious effort to relax your shoulder and neck muscles.
Become very conscious of these muscles and let the stiffness drain out of them until they are completely limp.
Now, flex and relax your major muscles in sync with your breathing.
For example, tense your right leg muscles as you breathe in and relax slowly as you exhale.
On your next breath, do the same with your left leg muscles, then your stomach muscles and so on.
Taking charge of your body in this manner relaxes you and reassures you that you are not losing control, helping to alleviate the panic and disorientation.
Of course, if these steps do not work, you should seek immediate professional help.
There are a number of internet resources available that provide additional information regarding long term prevention and how to cure panic attacks.
Reading several reviews first is always a good idea.
All you need to do is to search for terms such as cure panic attacks review or something similar.
