How to Sit At a Computer Workstation
- 1). Adjust the height of your chair so your feet are flat on the floor and your legs almost form a 90-degree angle. Position the armrests, if your chair has them, so your forearms will comfortably rest on them without you having to slouch.
- 2). Adjust your keyboard. The surface that supports your keyboard should fall between 1 and 2 inches above your thighs.
- 3). Adjust your monitor to be between 20 and 26 inches away from you. If it is not possible to move the monitor, move yourself.
- 4). Be conscious of your regular posture. Keep your spine straight by keeping your ears aligned with your shoulders and your shoulders aligned with your hips.
