How Do I Replace the Memory in My Dell Latitude D410 Laptop?

    • 1). Turn off your Dell D410 and remove the power cable. Slide the rectangular battery out of its compartment on the bottom of the computer.

    • 2). Insert the tip of your Phillips screwdriver in the gap where the keyboard bezel, the plastic frame that rests above the keyboard, meets the side of the laptop. Gently pry up and remove the keyboard bezel from the computer.

    • 3). Remove all screws above the keyboard and set them aside.

    • 4). Lift the keyboard up from the top and place it face-down over the track pad. The green memory module will now be visible in the computer.

    • 5). Pull the retaining tabs at either end of the memory module outward, and the module will pop slightly out of the computer.

    • 6). Remove the module from the compartment and fit a new one in its place.

    • 7). Press the module gently down until the latches snap in place. Replace the keyboard, screws and bezel.
