Identify Anxiety Attacks (And Cure Them)

103 7
We have all heard of Anxiety Attacks.
We have heard many different doctors, psychologists, friends, and even television shows tell us that these Attacks are very intense and, to the person having them, absolutely dreadful.
The problem is that we all have experienced anxiety at some point, so how do we know if we are having an attack or not? Despite all the worry over Anxiety attacks, the description of them is really quite vague.
Nervousness, hot flashes, irritation and edginess, quick breathing, and tightness in the chest or throat.
Every day we experience momentary feelings like this, but it isn't until they become frequent and longer lasting that we start to worry.
Did you catch that? We worry because we are worried.
We become anxious about our anxiety.
No text book is going to tell you how you feel any better than you can.
In fact, many textbooks provide you with answers that only make your problems worse.
You KNOW if you are feeling anxious.
The word Attack actually goes straight to the root of your anxiety and is clear evidence of what makes it worse.
Think about it.
You are becoming anxious because of reasons that you have chosen to think about.
You have a whole list of reasons to be anxious, all of which are perfectly true I am sure, but you are forgetting the one thing that makes them have power over you.
You.
The word Attack seems to imply that something other than you is assaulting you with Anxiety.
Does this make sense to you or does it sound like a complete lack of responsibility? You are not being attacked by anyone but yourself.
When it comes to Anxiety the cure and the cause are the exact same thing.
You.
It takes a little practice but you can overcome your anxiety easily and quickly by not fearing it.
Most of your anxiety attacks start hours before you have them, when you start worrying about having an anxiety attack.
