    • 1). Unplug the dryer.

    • 2). Remove the screws along the back of the unit. Remove the screws from the corners of the control panel. Slide a putty knife between the control panel and the unit, and pull the control panel off. Lift the cabinet of the dryer forward to remove it.

    • 3). Locate the heating element in the machine. It is long with coils and is towards the back of the unit.

    • 4). Set your multimeter to the RX1 setting.

    • 5). Touch one probe to each end of the heating element. Replace the unit if you receive a reading of infinity.
