How to Tie Monofilament Fishing Line to Copper Wire
- 1). Fold the final 2 inches of the copper wire back on itself in a manner that forms a loop at the end of the wire.
- 2). Insert approximately 4 to 5 inches of the tag end of the monofilament line through the wire loop and use your thumb and forefinger to trap the monofilament line near the tag end of the bent wire. A few inches of the monofilament line should now lie alongside the wire loop and the tag end of the monofilament line should extend beyond the end of the wire loop.
- 3). Wrap the tag end of the monofilament line 10 to 12 times around both the copper wire and the monofilament line situated alongside the wire. Each successive turn should be placed a little closer to the point where the monofilament line passes through the wire loop.
- 4). Slip the tag end of the monofilament line back through the wire loop in the same direction in which the monofilament line originally passed through the wire loop.
- 5). Slowly tighten the knot and trim away the tag end of the monofilament line.
