How to Cut Braided Fishing Line
- 1). Hold the braided line between finger and thumb, pulling against the spooled line on the reel until taut.
- 2). Cut through the line with one continuous slice of the cutting pliers or scissors. Make as straight a cut as possible through the line; cutting at an angle can cause the longer edge of the cut line to start fraying.
- 3). Remove any frayed strands on the braided line by holding the tip for a second over a lighted match or lighter to melt the loose ends.
