    • 1). Tie the first and largest hook to the end of the line with an improved clinch knot. Push the end of the line through the hook-eye; pull 1 foot of line through the eye. Wrap the end of the line around the line on the opposite side of the hook eye seven times. Pull the end through the loop at the bottom of the wraps. Pull the end through the newly formed loop. Pull on the line to tighten the knot.

    • 2). Cut 2 feet of fluorocarbon line from a spool; use line clippers. Tie one end of the line to the eye of the original hook with an improved clinch knot. This places two knots on the same hook-eye.

    • 3). Tie the second and smaller hook to the free end of the line with an improved clinch knot. Use line clippers to trim the tag ends flush to each of the three knots.

    • 4). Add your bait to the two hooks, or attach both hooks to a single bait. This technique is common for fishing live mullet and shad.

    • 5). Do not make any additions or adjustments for fly fishing. Fish with the two flies, and use a smooth casting motion to prevent tangling.
